SAVE THE DATE—The Utah Headliners Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists will be presenting our 2011 SPJ Awards for excellence in journalism on Friday, June 15. This year, rather than a formal dinner, the awards will be presented during an open house/reception to be held at the Officer’s Club at Ft. Douglas, on the University of Utah campus. The club’s address is 110 South Fort Douglas Blvd. Our open house will begin at 6:30 p.m. and go until 8:30 p.m. At about 7 p.m., we will have a short presentation of our major awards—the Clifford P. Cheney Service to Journalism Award, the Roy B. Gibson Freedom of Information Award, the Quintus C. Wilson Ethics Award, and the Don Baker Investigative Reporting Award.
