A meeting of the Utah Headliners Chapter board will be held Saturday, September 16 at 9 a.m., at the SL Tribune building.
The agenda is as follows:
1- SPJ National Convention recap (Ben)
2- Financial report (Tom)
3- Weber State scholarship (Ben, Allison)
4- League of Cities & Towns recap (Allison, Ed)
5- UJD Conference recap (Connie, etc.)
6- Upcoming events, other business
Also, the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing later this month on a proposed federal shield law.
The SPJ is encouraging everyone to call, write or e-mail their representatives (Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch is on the Senate Judiciary Committee) in support of this bill. You can see the national SPJ organization’s position here.
