Legal Advice in Two Great Lunchtime Zoom Webinars—SPJ Members Only
The Utah Headliners Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is excited to announce two webinars on April 13 & 14 that will give members the chance to gain valuable legal insight from the state’s top First Amendment attorneys.
Understanding copyright and fair use
Wednesday, April 13, 12-1 p.m.
In this webinar you’ll hear from Bill Evans, a senior litigator at Parsons, Behle & Latimer who has over 30 years of experience with copyright, fair use and trademark infringement. He’ll help members understand what fair use is and how to stay out of trouble when using images in news stories, posts and broadcasts.

Media Lawyers Q & A
Thursday, April 14, 12-1 p.m.
At this event we’re giving members the chance to ask any and all legal questions to a panel of experts. Got questions about naming sources, corrections and clarifications, when a public meeting can and can’t be closed, or anything else? Then come ready to ask them!
Panelists include Jeff Hunt and David Reymann, senior attorneys at Parr, Brown, Gee & Loveless; Bill Evans of Parsons, Behle & Latimer; and Brigham Young University law professor and attorney Ed Carter.
